Frequently Asked Questions

What videos work with Speedrun?

Speedrun works with any YouTube video that has captions or subtitles available. This includes most videos, since YouTube auto-generates captions for the majority of content.

Why does it say "no captions available"?

Some videos have captions disabled by the creator, or the video may be too new for YouTube to have generated automatic captions. Try again later, or check if the video has subtitles enabled.

How does audio playback work?

Speedrun generates a natural-sounding audio version of each summary using AI text-to-speech. You can play, pause, scrub through the timeline, and adjust playback speed. Audio streams directly — no downloads required.

What data does Speedrun collect?

Speedrun only processes publicly available video metadata, transcripts, and comments when you click the Speedrun button. We don't collect personal information, browsing history, or account credentials. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

What sites are supported?

Speedrun currently supports YouTube videos and web articles. We're actively working on expanding to more platforms.
